I never felt this before .Earlier I used to tease the guys when they say “I miss her da”.

I wondered, what does it mean?.

And now, when my wife is away from me, I am just thinking about her only. I am  longing for the time we spent together. I am eagerly awaiting her return.

The name




It is a baby girl. Finally we concluded with our own assumptions.

Ramya and I expected a baby boy based on our own and also some previous experiences shared by other parents.


Earlier, the moments of the baby in the womb indicated that it is boy or we felt that it should be a boy.


Now, based on further indications, we are expecting a baby girl.

My father named me Petchinathan as my paternal grandfather’s name is Petchinatha Pillai..My brother and sister also sharing a common name with my maternal grandparents.

My sister named her son Tarun Kailash . It was no way connected to her in laws or our parents.

As it is common in this part of world to name the name of your parents to the children , I decided to follow.

When it was a boy, I decided to name as Subramaniya. Subramaniya Pillai is my father’s name and it is my father in law’s name too. But now …

I can name Viveka, my mother’s name .But Ramya may not like .I don’t like my mother in law’s name –Velam.

I suggested some good names.” Ramya we can name the girl “Krishna “.Krishna-a common name for the boy.

“Promise me, you don’t have any back story on this name”…Ramya asked firmly.


Now I have to make a promise every time whenever I am saying any name.

And the search is on till the delivery ……….

Suddenly I remember my blog. Some months back, I used to post one or two posts in a month. All of a sudden, I stopped...The reason …Nothing specific. May be don’t had the good content. May be I lost the urge of blogging .May be the Happiness of Marriage life doesn’t not allow me to think beyond.

It is very clear now. There is a drought in the scriptwriter / director’s creative cells.

No. I don’t mean that their creative ideas are drained.

Guess, What I am pointing here ?. May be Title suggests you something.



This is not about the name of the film. It is about the name of the lead character / Hero / protagonist in our Tamil movies.



Confused .Ok. See the list of the Tamil films. You may find one aspect common to all the films.

What is common? Karthik is the answer.

The character name of the lead actor in these films is Karthik.

And now there is a hindi film featuring Farahan Akthar and Deepika ‘Kartik calling Kartik’.





Earlier the hit names are Shiva ,Jeeva .Now its ‘Karthik’s ‘turn.



Think if Vijayakanth’s or Rajini’s name is karthik in their upcoming films. You may burst into laughter.

What is the reason behind the current surge of karthik in Tamil films. I wondering that the director may feel this name ‘Karthik’ has a youth appeal.



I never want to be called as Karthik..While in school ,they called me Karthika and in college ,they purposefully called ‘petchi’ .



In home , I am Karthi.

I thought it was her regular number, which she used to play on me before the marriage.


After a couple of calls, I understand that this anger is different.

She was reluctant to attend my calls and answered like a answering machine.



“What happened?” .My question was not replied..


I know she was fed up with unstoppable vomiting. She was tired and drained.

Is that the reason.. I wondered. How? It was she who wanted a baby immediately after the marriage. Even she asked “ I have to wait for nine long months ..”..

I felt “I hate you”.



She was hospitalized and now she is fine.



I know how some girls behaved when they are vomiting because of pregnancy.


This is something a hand of GOD.

The above post I posted exactly two years ago, which described the souring relation between a husband and wife ( a true story ), is just like this post. But the surprising element here is , I used the name ‘ RAMYA ’.. I really don’t know how I given the wife s name is RAMYA.

As soon as I circulated my wedding invitation, the comments poured on me from various estates.

When thinking back, I asked myself what prompted me to go with this invitation..
First, I don’t want go for a normal wedding invitation. I was sure that, my wedding invitation should be different from the normal one.. Again I don’t want to use any borrowed phrases from Google...

I written the card in such a way, which should resemble my professional, work That s all.
I really don’t see any creative and innovative way here.
As I know my self, I will do a invitation card like this only…Those people, who don’t know me, may wonder that I am not the brain behind this.

For me , it is invitation …that’s all.

I thought it was a big deal… It seems actually… I always thought of quitting it one day.. But I don’t know when to do and how to do.
I don’t remember any day with out a fag since 2002 except a month when I was in bed because of typhoid.

I don’t remember the date when I started it. But I will not forget the date sep 15,the day I through away the king size .


I am not the guy or someone who waited for that someone to rehabilitate .But I will credit this and say thanks to Mr. Manish –my senior colleague, with whom I had a 30 hours journey in train.

This post is a thanks saying one to him and the advice he imparted on me had a great effect.

After the last fag in my life time and bid adieu to my dear friend of so many isolated, private ,lonely moments , it was a toss between my heart and head how to disclose the fact about the fag to my would be wife.
I certainly know she don’t about this. I revealed without any direct contact of eyeballs as I could not see her.

It was different story altogether.

The urge is still there… But I will not do it again... I know what I did in years.

After a long time, today I checked my blog..

The last five months were quite impressive.
A lot of things happened during these period. I lost my lap top. I shown the door to the guy, friend for 5 years from the room. We all concluded that he did it.

I could not type any posts in office time. Over phone chat with my girl take much of my night hours.

The happiest point here is the attitude of my life partner. She has broken all my first look views about her. And now, even sometimes I can’t Lie to her . All my past beenburied inside my heart. She discovered the truth that I don’t have much special characters and very easy to her crack.

Three more months remaining .We are waiting …………

It was a different experience, having a complete filmy feel though it was a realistic one.

I searched the gal all over and finally I found that she was just 8km away from my village. I used to thought before, somebody -the gal will come and make change in me and guide me through the rest of my life. I expected a girl of clear cut shrewdness, level headed at the same time should have the respect for family values .This is the very clear case of ideal life partner or wife.



When I saw this gal’s photo along with kathir and gooja , I thought she is the one.

Knowing clearly that, this gal doesn’t belong to the category of my thoughts , I told my mom I am ok .Somehow, I liked her. Before that as the horoscopes have been matched and we, both our side and the gal’s side were happy about the results. Both the sides wanted me to do the ‘customary, filmy ponnu parkkum program.



I spent some sleepless, pitiless nights before the ponnu parkkum item .Kathir and gooja knows how I tortured them.



It was a classic case of Ponnu parrkm program..I gone there along with my family.

I saw this gal . It was a very rare moment that I have ever seen in the films only, this gal is having all the shyness while seeing a guy. She dint see me directly but wanted to see me how I looks .She did that with a typical filmy style. I really enjoyed the moments as I felt that I was part of the screenplay and ofcourse I was the hero.



After some time, we were allowed to talk in a separate room. She is a village belle .She is doing MSC (IT) in a local college.

I know, I really don’t have the choice of explaining her of my Hollywood film exposure or Hindi songs or my knowledge of world affairs or my affections for films or my interest for writing . Because she was not ready to hear all these provided she has been knocked out by my presence .She displayed all her shyness while sitting near to me.



I explained my job nature and my current month company (please note, current month company) etc.. Before that we exchanged these words “ yenna piducirukka “ ..



I am sure she don’t know about orkut or facebook or brad bit or Tom cruise



I took this attached photo at that time. I know she liked me very much.

During the proceeding she asked for not sporting the meesai .. I managed the scene.

Now ,Not only her, ‘sporting a moustache is their family’s wish .



All these incidents, I came to understand the real in me. I am just struggling to get the romantic feel. I am trying to cope with her romantic words, like whenever she called and say ‘ sapitacha , yenna panreenga ,yenna ninacheengagala etc. I felt I am little old to for a romance now. I know the feeling of this girl and try to set my mind in the posture.



It is completely different feel, though cinematic, it is real...



I don’t know her innocence ( as of now ) is advantage for our future life or not.

She is just going to cross 22 in sep and she is having that kind of maturity. Being brought up in a closed village, she is thinking and doing romance with her would be husband like a typical village heroine in the films. She is just mad about me and loving me unconditionally. Now I am having the biggest responsibility of taking her up my side and teach the nuances of a city life .Who knows, there is a chance of myself changing her side..I believe happy days are ahead.

It was a big nightmare. But three days were memorable for a long time.

I wish, the dark nights should not come again.

The flooded homes, from the news channel in the past, where people struggled to cope with the situation have not affected me till Friday.

When, I was the victim, I felt the about the people, who have suffered because of the flood.

Cleaning the rooms, using the water in a minimum level, candle night sleeps and much more …were, finally treated by us as fun.
